tiphatGETTING STARTED: tiphat

1. You must be 18+ before joining BritanniaRP (non negotiable as we are all adults)

2. YOU are responsible for YOUR account. Any breaches of the Rules and Regulations on your account will be attributed to you.

3. Prior to joining our RedM server, ensure that your Discord name matches your character names.

(If you have multiple characters, you must request here to change your Discord name. E.g: Caroline/Carrie | Kathryn | Polly)

4. You must have a clear working microphone and you may ONLY communicate in English. (Voice changers must be realistic.)

5. This is a Serious Roleplay server, which means that character names, backstories and appearances must be realistic.

Whilst in county, these rules are referred to as ‘State Rules - Created by The Government’ seperate to ‘County Laws’ enforced by police.

Every new character will begin in the town of Blackwater. This is a SafeZone which means any PvP activity is forbidden.

It is YOUR responsibility to remain up-to-date with our Rules. You must react in the Discord server that you have acknowledged the Rules here

Whenever it states ‘Severely injured’ in the rules, we are referring to when a player is downed

ROLEPLAY GUIDELINES (a.k.a. How Not to Be That Cowboy 🤠)

Not strict rules, more like friendly advice from the wise old outlaw at the bar. We’ll update this when we remember—but Discord is where the real gossip (and updates) live.

1. Become the character (yes, really).
The best RPers are basically undercover actors. This is your chance to escape reality - so commit to it. If you’re going to be a cowboy, be the cowboy. Hat, attitude, walk, questionable life choices and all.

2. There’s more to life than shootouts.
Sure, we all dream of being the fastest gun in the West. But sometimes, being “random guy #3” is weirdly brilliant. Chat with locals, blend in, confuse people. Nothing beats someone going, “Wait… I thought you were an NPC?”

3. RP is a team sport, not a solo movie.
You’re not the main character in everyone else’s story. Good RP is like a dance—if you step on toes, at least make it entertaining. Give good RP, get good RP. Simple math.

4. Don’t chase people like a desperate ex.
If someone walks away from a scene, let them go. No one enjoys being followed across the map like they owe you money. Sometimes the best moments are short and sweet.

5. Combat RP – Don’t go full chaos goblin.
Murder shouldn’t be your go-to solution for everything (spilled drink ≠ justified homicide). Losing can actually make for great RP—shocking, we know. Plus, hospitals and lawmen exist for a reason… give them some screen time.

6. Criminal RP – Crime with style, please.
Being a good criminal is hard. Being a bad criminal RPer is easy. Don’t just commit crimes because you’re bored—this isn’t a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. Make it make sense, and remember there’s a real person behind the other characters.

7. Robbery RP – Don’t be a fun vacuum.
Yes, getting robbed adds excitement… but also mild "emotional damage". You could be undoing hours of someone’s work in minutes. So if you’re robbing someone, make sure the whole scene is actually enjoyable—not just for you, but for them too. Be a bandit, not a buzzkill. Yes it is "Just A Game & Just Pixels" but if they have spent hours doing something dont waste their time for 5 minutes of yours.

Section A: Warning and Punishment Policy:

A.1: BritanniaRP operates on a points system regarding breaches of the Rules. Bans are as follows:

  • First Offence 5-50 points: Warning/Temporary Ban (depending on what Rule was broken): You will be given a verbal warning depending on how severe the rulebreak.
  • 7 day expiry.
  • Second Offence 10-50 points: Warning/Temporary Ban (depending on what Rule was broken): You will be given a recorded warning depending on how severe the rulebreak. 14 day expiry.
  • Third Offence 20-50 points: Temporary/Permanent Ban (depending on what Rule was broken): You will be given a recorded Ban depending on how severe the rulebreak. 30 day expiry.

A.2: BritanniaRP staff have the final say in terms of punishments. If you are deemed ‘Not here to Roleplay’ by staff, you are subject to removal from BritanniaRP permanently.
-A.2.1: BritanniaRP does allow unban appeals through the discord, if you believe you were banned unjustifiably you are entitled to appeal. However if a ban was justified an Unban appeal may not be overturned atall, or may be over some period of time.

E.7: You are not allowed to Combat Log (exiting the County to avoid further roleplay), unless you provide Staff with valid emergency circumstances. Failure to adhere to this rule will render you subject to punishment. Try not to start planned scenes you know you will have to ride out soon or within 30minutes of storms.

I.3: You are permitted to break out of regular lassos to avoid capture. Reinforced Lasso's you should not break free from until an active scene is over.

B.1: There is zero tolerance for any discriminatory, toxic or oppressive behaviour.

-B.1.1: This includes any form of discrimination, gendered, forced sexual, racist, homophobic, ableist behaviour.

For Realism we appreciate that in 1901 sexuality was hidden, slavery was coming to an end and transgender surgery did not exist. This does NOT give anybody the right to point this out to anyone in county, although we do ask people to be as realistic as possible to the times, so irrespective of a players gender or sexuality they should not be discriminated against, however we do ask people not to troll as a male in a dress shouting obscenities or playing a darker coloured skin player and claiming people are racist just because they said they couldnt help, (There should be NO "Is it 'cos I am *&$# as this is antagonistic and NOT allowed, and can be reported for FAIL RP.)

B.2: Cursing and profanity is allowed as long as it has purpose and the context makes sense, but should not be excessive, and should make roleplay sense. Screaming over your mic and name calling is NOT quality roleplay.

────⋅⊱༻🎕༺⊰⋅────

Section F: Impersonation, Vigilantism, Self-Defence:

F.1: You are not permitted to roleplay as Government Officials or Emergency Services (Law and Doctors)  without holding an official role in one of these positions.

-F.1.1: This includes the use of forged documentation or wearing their uniforms or identifiers. This can be roleplayed out in County but can lead to punnishment OOC.

F.2: When criminal action occurs, you should respond realistically. If you are in the area of a crime but not directly involved, don’t intervene on behalf of Emergency Services. Make sure you are valuing both your life and the lives of others present and following correct initiation rules. (Sections N and H)

F.3: The only time where you are permitted to directly respond to criminal acts is when you or your group are initiated upon. You may still be considered an active combatant, and the Police may charge you with the associated crimes.

F.4: You have the right to defend your properties and friends through correct initiation. This will not be considered criminal, but there is a chance that the Law will investigate the situation as long as they witnessed or enough witnesses to support the defence. Starting fights in towns however will be liable to be seen as criminal - take it to the Pig Pen or Out of Town Centres.

J.4: The use of scenes must align with J.1, and must be placed within realistic locations. No floating scenes in the middle of the road etc. There are private property signs that you can build from furniture to mark your property line if needed, leave PO's at mailboxes, next to business doors/stalls etc.

If you do move a body you must do so within 5 minutes. and if a doctor has been notified that should be rectified so Doctors do not waste time on journeys where they are not needed by cancelling the origional alert.

H.4: Individuals who have been severely injured cannot return to an active combat situation this includes Law and Factions and criminals, if you are downed in an active combat scenario when safe for the medical personel to aid you they will transport to the nearest Medical Ofiice, unless there are too many to heal, in which case when revived you are to act out your injuries and leave the area, you should not re-engage within 30 minutes. If some Police are left standing they can help transport criminals, but cannot capture any as that is seen as re-engaging. They can also help with processing to speed up the process for everyone. You can remember everything unless you have gone into the light.
